The fluid sho uld be pour ed in onl y after the shock absorber body
is gri pped in a vice and set to a vertica l position, with the cy lind e r-
and-suction valve body assembly in stalled in the shock abs orber
body.
In s ert the rod together with the piston, bearing and nu t into the
cy li nder. Carefu ll y l ay down the sealing ring, using som e s harp
object for the purpose.
Sc r ew the reservoir nut home (if co rr ectly assemb led, the screw
thread of the nut must protrude by not more than one thrt•ad or be
su.nk ihe same distance) .
After
the reservo ir nut is screwed in, rock the rod with lhe pi ston
by hand to remove air from the working cylinder.
Wh en di s mantling or repairing the shock a bsorb ers, che ck to s ee
that the s il ent-blocks are prop e rly sec ured and in good working order;
if their rubber are found to be damag ed, repl ace th em.
R.emoval and Installation of the R.ear Suspen si on Lever
To rem ove the rea r suspe nsi on lever, proceed as follows:
un
screw th e bolts tig ht en i ng the rubber bushin gs, remove the
oute r covers a nd fi xing was hers; ta ke out th e outer rubb er bushings;
unscr ew th e nuts of coup li ng bolts of the rear su spen sion leve r
and remove the inn er cou.pling bolt;
remove the left-hand jou rna l;
pr ess the l ever at th e base in the left-hand dir ection, turn the
lever end to the right and take the l ever out. ·
On remova l, was h the rear suspe n sion l ever and check it for
damage.
Take ca re to check wheth er the rubber bushings are intact. Re-
place the d efective bushings.
Re-assemble th e rea r suspension lever in reverse order. The si -
l
en t-bl ocks s hould be tight ened with the re ar suspension l eve r in a
horiz o nt al position, takin ~ care to ens ur e that the s il e nt-bl ock inner
bushes a re re liably tight ened.
XI. R.EPAIR.ING THE HANDLEBAR. AND CONTROL CABLES
I. DISMANTLING AND ASSEMBLING THE THROTTLE CONTROL GRIP
To dismantle the throttle control grip, proceed as follows:
undo the screw securing the body cove r, r emove the body cover
a nd wit hdraw the cabl e e nd pieces from the slider;
unlock
th e sc rew sec uring the body and screw it off a few t urn s.
Remove the grip from th e handl ebar;
mov e aside the handl e bar rubb er grip and prot ect ive washer,
take out the locking ring and move as ide the inner washer;
unlo ck the adjusting sc rew, undo it and rem ove ihe g rip tub e,
together w ith the chain a nd slider, from the body.
