sec urely tighten up the flywheel fastening bolt by m ea ns oi a
wrench DP-1256;
unbend the lock washer onto one of the bolt edges;
remove th e appliance.
Removal and Installation of\tlte- Connecting Rod
To remove the connecting rod, do th e following:
unben d the nibs of the co tter pins;
take out th e colte r pins;
unscrew the nuts of lhe connecti ng rod bolts by means of a socket
\'iTnch;
take down the connect ing rod cap with lhe bush;
n:move the co nn ectin g rod together with the bush.
When dtsma nt ling, mark lh e conn ect ing rods, connecting rod
caps and bushes so as nol lo conf use them during assemb l age.
Afte r dismanlling, wash a nd examtne the component parts and
make the necessary m eas ur e ment s.
Re-assemble Lhe conneclmg r.od s in reverse order, laking i nlo
~1ccount that th e co nne c ting rod big end is not sy mm etr i ca l.
To co rrectl y in s tall the connecting rods on the crankshaft, the
co nn ecti ng rod bl<1des are pro vid ed with lug s whtch must be directed
outwa rds with respect lo the cran ks haft web (in the case of the
righl-hand connecting rod, the lug is tu rned towards the flywheel,
in the case of the left-hand connecting rod, toward s the centrifuge).
The nuts of th e connecting rod bolts s hould be ti ghtened up and
iocked by cotter pins, provision being made lo ens ure that the con-
'lecting rod turns freely on the crankshaft.

Removal and Installation of the Crankshaft
In order to remove lhe crankshaft, ca rr y out the dism a ntli ng in
the fo llowing order:
remove th e driving timing pinion, u sing a lift er TIP-1367 with
e nd piece P

-362 and take out the keys of the centrifug e and of dn v-
ing p inion;
remove the Clriving gear of the oi l pump with the help of a lifter
IIP -1 367, using an end piece 8

lhe oil pump. un sc r ew tile bolls fa stening the front b ear ing.
Remove the sump, unscrew two bolts securing the oil he ader, re-
move
the oil header and unscrew the oil intake pipe, f or which pur-
pose ease off the check nut;
r emove the front bearing body together with oil pump (F ig. 13)
by means of a lift er TIP-1258;
take o ul lhe c rank sha ft with co nn ecting rods from the engine
crankcase;
