In
order
to

t the
ear
ly
ignition
advance
a
ngl
e in
th
e TIM-302
breaker,
pro
ceed
as
follows:

the
direction of
its
rotation
until
th
e piston
is
34±2°
before
U.D.C.
In
doing
this, u
se
mark
"P"
(early)
on
th
e
flywheel
as
a
gui
de;
· bring
apart
the
weights
of the a
utomati
c device a
nd
rotate
the
breaker
body,
eas
in
g off its fixing scr
ews
until
th
e
portable
lamp,
co
nn
ected
into
th
e
circui
t
together
with
the
s
tor
age
battery,
goes
out. ·
Fix the
breaker
body
in
this
position,
make
a
mark
agai
n
st
the
poi
nt
er
on
the
br
eake
r body
and
sec
ure
the
latt
er
with
screws;
check
th
e
gap
between
the
s
park
di
sc
harg
e
rs
in
the
ig
nition
coil,
which
gap
mu
st be
within
8 a
nd
9 mm.
If
n
ecessa
r
y,
adju
st
the
gap.
To check
the
ga
p in
th
e s
park
plugs,
screw
th
e la
tt
er
out
of
th
e
cylind
er
head
s.
Th
e
ga
p
between
the
electrodes
mu
st
be
equal
to
0.5 to 0.6 mm.
When
ad
ju
sting
the
gap,
be
nd
the
side
electrode.
To
set
th
e
expa
ns
io
n
ga
p between
the
valve
stem
and
the
rock-
er e
nd
,
proceed
as
fo
ll
ows
:
place
a
tray

nd
er
th
e cylinder head, remo
ve
the
cy
lind
er hea d
cover
and
drain
the
o
il
that
has
accumulated;
turn
the
engine
cranks
h
aft
until
the
in
let valve is clo
sed
(a noti-

eab
le clearance
must
be
provided
between
the in l
et
va
lve
stem
and
the
rocker
e
nd
).
When
this
position is achieved, ad
ju
st
th
e ex
hau
st
valve
cleara
nce.
For
this
purpose
ease
off the check
nut
and
rotate
the
adju
st
ing bolt in
one
direction or the
other
depending
on
wheth
er
the
cl
ea
rance h
as
to
be incr
eased
or
diminished.
Following
th
at,
lighten
up
the
check
nut;
by
turning
the
cranks
haf
t until
the
exh
aust
valve
sta
rt
s to rise,
se
t
the
clearanc
e of
the
inlet
va lve.
