14. Using a Counter Shaft Hanger, position the upper
Counter Shaft as far towards the case as possible and
away from the Main Shaft.
Note: If no Counter Sh
aft Hanger is available, thread a
9/16” bolt into the Counter Shaft and use a wire to pull
it away from the Main Shaft.
15. Slide the Reverse Gear
as far to the rear of the case as
possible. Using a flat head screw driver, remove the
snap ring by working it out of the I.D. of the gear.
Note: When removing the snap ring, the tension of the
snap ring can c
ause the ring to spring out.
16. Remove the
Keyed Washer from back of the Reverse
Gear
17. Move the
Reverse Gear forward against 1st Gear,
engaging the splines of the Main Shaft Sliding Clutch.
18. Push the upper
Reverse Idler Gear towards the outside
of the case (away from the Main Shaft).
