Eachaccesspointradiointerfacecanbeconfiguredtooperateinabridgemode,whichallowsitto
forwardtrafficdirectlytootheraccesspointunits.Tosetupbridgelinksbetweenaccesspoint
units,youmustconfiguretheWirelessDistributionSystem(WDS)forwardingtablebyspecifying
thewirelessMACaddress
ofallunitstowhichyouwanttoforwardtraffic.Youcanspecifyupto
eightWDSbridgelinksforeachunitinthewirelessbridgenetwork.
TheSpanningTreeProtocol(STP)canbeusedtodetectanddisablenetworkloops,andtoprovide
backuplinksbetweenbridges.Thisallows
awirelessbridgetointeractwithotherbridging
devices(thatis,anSTP‐compliantswitch,bridgeorrouter)inyournetworktoensurethatonly
onerouteexistsbetweenanytwostationsonthenetwork,andprovidebackuplinkswhich
automaticallytakeoverwhenaprimarylinkgoesdown.
