TheIEEE802.11aand802.11b/ginterfacesincludeconfigurationoptionsforradiosignal
characteristics,VirtualAPs(VAPs),andwirelesssecurityfeatures.
Theconfigurationoptionsforbothradiointerfacesarenearlyidentical,andarebothcoveredin
thissectionofthemanual.
TheRadioSettingssectionincludesoptionsfortheradiocharacteristicsof
theinterface,andthe
networkdefinitionofthedefaultradiointerface,Wi‐FiMultimedia(WMM),anduptoseven
VAPsperradiointerface.
Radio Signal Characteristics
Theaccesspointcanoperateinseveraldifferentradiomodes,IEEE802.11aonly,802.11b only,
802.11gonly,802.11b/gonly,oramixed802.11a/b/gmode.802.11gisbackwardcompatiblewith
802.11b.
TheIEEE802.11ainterfaceoperateswithinthe5GHzband,atupto54Mbpsinnormalmode,or
upto
108MbpsinTurbomode.
Youdefinenetworkinformationandradiosignalcharacteristicsfortheradiointerface.The
networkinformationappliesonlytotheServiceSetIdentifier(SSID)specifiedforthedefaultradio
interface.YouspecifyuniquenetworkinformationfortheSSIDofeachVAPyoudefineforthis
radiointerface
(inadditiontothedefaultradiointerface),ifany.
Note: The radio channel settings for the RBT-4102 are limited by local regulations, which determine
the number of channels that are available.
