13.1 Diagnose Switch Indicators

Symptom Cause Action
PWR LED is off
DC power is dis-
connected
Check if the DC power supply is connected to the switch.
Check connections between the switch, the power cables,
and the DC power circuit.
Check the switch’s fuse condition. Replace the fuse, if nec-
essary.
DIAG LED is on
red
The switch has de-
tected a fault
Power cycle the switch to see if the condition is cleared.
If the condition persists, contact Ericsson.
FAN LED is on
red
One or both cooling
fans have a fault
Replace the fan tray.
CTRL LED is off ENC not present Contact Ericsson
CTRL LED is on
red
Error in the ENC
Log in to the CLI, check if the ECN is in Fallback state.
Check the log file for errors. Check the interfaces configu-
ration.
If the ECN is not in Fallback state, contact Ericsson.
A port status
LED is off
There is no valid
link on the port
Verify that the switch and attached device are powered on.
Be sure the cable is plugged into both the switch and cor-
responding device.
Verify that the proper cable type is used and its length does
not exceed specified limits.
Check the adapter on the attached device and cable con-
nections for possible defects. Replace the defective
adapter or cable if necessary.
A port status
LED is flashing
red
There is a power
overload or short
circuit on the port
Remove the connection to the port.
Check the connection cable and connectors for defects and
possible short circuits. Replace the network cable if neces-
sary.
If the network cable is verified to be OK, replace the EDA
device.
