D. Auxiliary generator
The auxiliary generator can be optionally installed on the airplane; the previously used type SD-
20 or a newer type BC 425-H. The auxiliary generator is installed on the rear flange of the
engine propeller gearbox.
The auxiliary generator is protected by the circuit breaker AUX. GEN, it is switched on / off by
the switch AUX. GEN which is located in the left half of the instrument panel. The generator
excitation is protected by the circuit breaker AUX. GEN FIELD located below the lower edge of
the instrument panel.
The auxiliary generator is controlled by the regulator LR3C-14 located on the firewall. It includes
the detection circuit that illuminates the signaling light of AUX. CHARG. in the case of a
generator failure.

E. External alternator
The F3A external alternator can be optionally installed on the airplane. The alternator is
mounted on the forward left side of the engine. It is mounted via brackets on the propeller gear
case and is belt driven from the propeller hub.
The external generator is protected by the circuit breaker AUX. GEN, it is switched on / off by
the switch AUX. GEN which is located in the left half of the instrument panel. The alternator
excitation is protected by the circuit breaker AUX. GEN FIELD located below the lower edge of
the instrument panel.
The external alternator is controlled by the integrated regulator. It includes the detection circuit
that illuminates the signaling light of AUX. CHARG. in the case of a alternator failure.

The battery is located in the engine compartment on the firewall. It is located in the holder and is
attached by the metal strip with the buckle and the lock, secured by lockwire.
The older version of the battery attachment has the strip attached by means of the screw
turnbuckle secured by lockwire.
