2. MAINTENANCE PRACTICES
A. Engine mount
Maintenance type: Heavy
Personnel
qualification:
Independent verification personnel qualified in accordance with Part
66 or higher
Recommended tools and material:
Torque wrench - 1 pc.
Hex key No. 8 1 pc.
Cotter pin 2x32 4 pc.
Grease AeroShell Grease 22 -
NOTE
Due to the absence of suspension points for the crane, the
engine is dismantled as a whole with the engine mount. The
way of removal and installation of the engine mount and the
silent blocks from the airplane is described in Section 71-00.
(1) Removal – engine mount
(a) After removing the engine from the aircraft (Section 71-00), put the engine in a
suitable place in order to prevent from its damaging.
(b) Remove the cotter pins (5, Fig. 71–4).
(c) Remove the safety plugs (2).
(d) Remove the screws (3) of engine suspension and take out the spring washers (4);
remove the screws of the lower suspensions, including the brackets of exhaust
pipe muffler (6).
(e) Remove the engine mount (1).
(2) Installation – engine mount
(a) Position the engine mount (1, Fig. 71–4) on the attachment points on the engine
block.
CAUTION
THE THREADS OF SCREWS AND NUTS TIGHTENED BY
TORQUE WRENCH MUST BE DRY DURING INSTALLATION.
(b) Install the screw (3) with the spring washers (4), put the brackets for attaching the
exhaust pipe muffler (6) on the lower screws; tighten the screws using a torque of
35 Nm.
(c) Insert the safety plugs (2).
(d) Install and secure the cotter pins (5).
(e) Install the engine with the engine mount on the airplane (Section 71-00).
