2. MAINTENANCE PRACTICES
A. Generator
When removing / installing the generator, follow the engine manufacturer manual –
Maintenance Manual (Heavy Maintenance) for Rotax Engine Type 912 Series, Doc. No. MMH-
912/MMH-914, 899603.
B. Generator rectifier
Maintenance type: Line
Personnel qualification: Independent verification personnel qualified in accordance with
Part 66 or higher

(1) Removal – generator rectifier
(a) Switch the electrical network off and disconnect the battery.
(b) Remove the engine cowlings (Section 71-10).
(c) Disconnect the connector (2) from the rectifier (1, Fig. 24-4).
(d) Unscrew and remove the nuts (8) and the washers (7) from the rear part of the
firewall (10).
(e) Unscrew the screws (6) with the cable eyes of the wires (5).
(f) Remove the rectifier (1); as needed, remove the inserts (10).
(g) As needed, cut the cable ties (9) and remove the capacitor (3).
(2) Installation –generator rectifier
(a) Put the rectifier (1, Fig. 24-4) with the inserts (10) to the appropriate position on the
firewall (11).
(b) Slide the cable eyes of the wires (5) on the screws (6), insert the screws into the
corresponding holes in the rectifier (1), put on the washers (7), screw on and
tighten the nuts (8).
(c) Connect the connector (2) to the rectifier (1).
(d) As needed, attach the capacitor (3) by means of the cable ties (9).
(e) Install the engine cowlings (Section 71-10).
(f) Connect the battery, switch the electrical network on.
(g) Start the engine, do the engine test and check the function of the generator.
