7. INSPECTIONS OF PARTS – GENERAL
MOVABLE PARTS: lnspect for lubrication, attachments, security of attachments, excessive wear,
safetying, proper operation, proper adjustment, correct travel, cracked fittings, security of hinges,
defective bearings, cleanliness, corrosion, deformation, sealing and tension.
FLUID LINES AND HOSES: Inspect for leaks, cracks, structure, collapsed, twisted, dents, kinks,
chafing, proper radius, security, discoloration, deterioration, proper routing; rubber hoses for hardness
or flexibility and metal lines for corrosion, check service life of hoses.
METAL PARTS: lnspect for safety of attachments, cracks, metal distortion, broken spot-welds,
condition of paints (especially clips at seams and around fasteners for onset of corrosion) and any
other apparent damage.
STRUCTURAL FASTENERS: lnspect for correct torque in accordance with applicable torque values
(when visual inspection indicates the need for a torque check).
FILTERS, SCREENS AND FLUIDS: Inspect for cleanliness and the need for replacement at specified
intervals.
WIRING: Inspect for security, chafing, burning, arcing, defective insulation, loose and broken
terminals, heat deterioration and corroded terminals.
ln the text of individual operations, where the check for condition is required, dominant activities
carried out at checking for condition can be mentioned in brackets, e.g. "check fuselage skin for
condition (damage, deformation, cracks, loosened or missing rivets)".
8. INSPECTION GUIDELINES
The list of inspection requirements are given in Table SCHEDULED INSPECTION AFTER 100 FH OR
ANNUAL INSPECTION.

chapters of this Airplane Maintenance Manual (par. Inspection / check) and pertinent publication.
