(1) Safety principles during the maintenance and other handling the battery
(a) Before handling the battery, put on a rubber apron, rubber gloves, protective
glasses or other aids for eye protection. Don´t have any metal objects with you,
such as jewels.
(b) Handle the battery carefully and avoid chocks when moving it.
(c) Smoking or handling an open flame in a vicinity of the battery are strictly prohibited.
(d) Prevent short circuits of the battery. The battery is charged and a short circuit could
cause a damage of the equipment or could cause a damage to the health.
(e) Connect the screws to the end terminals correctly, otherwise a sparking could
occur or the terminals could be damaged.
(f) It is prohibited to smoke or handle an open flame.
(g) Clean the battery with a wet cloth. Don´t use a dust cloth or a dry cloth in order to
prevent static electricity and sparks. It is prohibited to use organic dissolvents
because it may cause a damage of the battery body.
(h) During a common operation, there isn´t any dissociative electrolyte on the battery
body after its sealing. However, if the battery body is damaged, a leakage of
dissociative sulfuric acid may occur. In the case when the eyes, skin or clothing get
in contact with the electrolyte, rinse the affected area by an abundant quantity of
water. If the acid gets in contact with the eyes, contact the doctor immediately after
their rinsing by water.
(i) Verify whether the positive (+ / red) and negative (- / black) connectors are
connected correctly, otherwise the battery or the charger could be damaged.
(j) The plates, terminals and the connecting parts of the battery contain lead or leaded
mixtures and other chemical compounds that are dangerous to health.
(k) Wash your hands after the contact with the battery!
