2. MAINTENANCE PRACTICES
A. Engine cowlings
Maintenance type: Line
Personnel qualification: Independent verification personnel qualified in accordance with
Part 66 or higher

WARNING
SWITCH OFF THE IGNITION AND TAKE OUT THE KEY!
NOTE
The removal / installation procedures for original and new wheel
engine cowlings are identical.
(1) Removalengine cowlings
(a) Switch the electrical network off and disconnect the battery.
(b) By turning counter-clockwise, release all the Camlocks (6, Fig. 712) on the
perimeter of the upper engine cowling (1); remove the released engine cowling (1)
from the airplane.
(c) Remove the screws (3) with the washers (5) that attach the liquid cooler to the
lower cowling of the engine (2).
(d) Remove the screws (4) with the washers (5) that attach the lower cowling of the
engine (2) to the border of the firewall.
(2) Installationengine cowlings
(a) Position the lower cowling of the engine to the firewall (2, Fig. 712).
(b) Install the screws (4) with the washers (5), but don´t tighten them.
(c) Position the lower cowling of the engine (2) on the rivet nuts of the liquid cooler
brackets; screw the screws (3) with the washers (5) into the relevant holes in the
lower cowling of the engine (2); tighten the screws.
(d) Position the upper engine cowling (1) on the holes for the Camlocks (6) in the
lower engine cowling (2) and in the firewall.
(e) By turning clockwise, lock the Camlocks (6).
(f) Connect the battery, switch the electrical network on.
