B. Pressure check and inflation of tyres of the landing gear wheels
Check and inflate the tyres of the landing gear wheels when the weather conditions are calm
and the airplane stands on a flat and level surface.
(1) Procedure
(a) Brake the airplane with wheel blocks.
(b) Clean the area around the wheel valve (7; 8, Fig. 12-1).
(c) Remove the dustcap from the wheel valve.
(d) Use the manometer to check pressure in the tyre:
• if the pressure is low, inflate the tyre, use an adapter to inflate the nose landing
gear wheel
• if the pressure is high, press the valve plug to release pressure from the tyre.
(e) Check the valves for leakage. Cover the valve opening with soapy water and make
sure that bubbles do not form; tighten the valve plug or replace it.
(f) Attach the dustcap.
(g) Remove the wheel blocks.
C. Filling of the brake system
(1) Brake fluid check / refilling
Refilling of the brake fluid is necessary when fuel leakage decreases efficiency of the
brake system.
(a) Align the airplane in a horizontal position (Section 08-10).
(b) Remove the upper engine cowling (Section 71-10).
(c) Check quantity of the brake fluid in the expansion tank (9, Fig. 12-1):
1 S5 00-51 01 standard brake system - the brake fluid level must be between
both marks.
2 S5 00-61 01 Matco brake system - the brake fluid level must be
approximately 6 mm from the top of the brake fluid expansion tank.
(d) Remove the cap of the tank as needed and refill the fluid (refer to Tab. 12-1).
(e) During refilling of fluid repeatedly step on the foot control pedal.
(f) After you refill the fluid, bleed the system (see par. 5 D(1)).
(g) Install the cap on the brake fluid expansion tank (9).
(h) Install the upper engine cowling (Section 71-10).
