Chapter 2: Introduction
The FARO Laser Scanner is a high-speed three-dimensional laser scanner for
detailed measurement and documentation. The FARO Laser Scanner uses
laser technology to produce exceedingly detailed three-dimensional images of
complex environments and geometries in only a few minutes. The resulting
images are an assembly of millions of 3D measurement points.
Unless otherwise stated, we use the term FARO Laser Scanner for any of the
FARO Laser Scanner Focus
M
70, Focus
S

150 or 350,

Plus 150 or 350.
The scanners are designed to scan objects in a distance range between
0.6 meters and approximately 70, 150, and 350 meters.
The laser scanners of the Focus
S
series offer a higher accuracy than the
Focus
M
series.
