LEXICON
Fire safety system. All the equipment used to collect all the information or orders related to
fire safety alone, to process them and to perform the functions necessary to make a building
or establishment safe.
ISS
Fire safety system. System made up of all the equipment which performs, based on
information or orders received, the functions, established beforehand, necessary for the
safety of a building or establishment in the event of fire.
WSIS
Fire detection system. System made up of all the equipment necessary for fire detection
and comprising:
Fire detectors (DI)
Control and signaling equipment (ECS)
Power supply equipment
Manual triggers (DM)
SDI
Alarm equipment. Set of devices necessary for the triggering and emission of emergency
evacuation sound signals. The alarm equipment is part of the fire safety system (SMSI).
EA
Fire safety centralizer. Set of device which, from information or manual control order,
issues electrical control orders to the equipment ensuring the functions necessary for
the fire safety of a building or establishment.
GISC
The CMSI makes it possible to manage security by function and by zone from a central point of the
building or establishment, both in order transmission and in control of feedback information. It
belongs to the WSIS.
Alarm management unit. Subset of the EA, being an integral part of the CMSI, whose mission
is to collect information from DM or SDI, to manage it and to trigger the alarm process.
UGA
Operated safety device. Controlled device which, by changing its state, participates directly and
locally in the fire safety of a building or establishment within the framework of the ISMS.SAR
Line of
remote
Line ensuring the transport of the command order out of the CMSI to one or more remotely
controlled DAS.
Line transporting status information from one or more DAS to the fire safety
centraliser.
Line of control
Signaling unit for manual call points; Type B CMSI equipment managing the signaling and
monitoring of manual call point loops.
