7.1.2 Deselect or select individual airspace
If you start your flight under an airspace whose lower is limit is higher than
you could possibly reach that reach day, you can cancel this airspace to
prevent unnecessary warnings. It is possible to deselect up to 3 airspaces.
Any deactivated airspaces are reactivated on restart of the instrument.
To deactivate an airspace, short press the i key to bring up the CTR info
page, select the desired airspace with the ▲▼ keys and press the F1 key
(Cancel CTR). The airspace is deleted from the CTR Info page and the
next closest airspaces move up the list. The number of canceled airspaces
is shown at the bottom of the page (just above the GPS coordinates).
Canceled airspaces are shown on the map page with dotted boundary.
To reactivate the canceled airspaces press the F2 key (React CTR) on the
CTR info page. Any canceled airspaces are also re-activated if they fall out
of the 100 nearest airspace list. Therefore, if you fly back towards the start,
the previously canceled airspaces will once again be active as they are
reloaded into the active airspace memory.
7.2 Airspace on an SD card
Using an SD card it is possible to load unlimited airspaces into the 6030. Individual airspaces are assembled
into airspace files (region, state, Province, country, continent, etc,). Airspace files can be generated on a PC
from OpenAir files found on the Internet using the Flytec airspace utility. The airspace file is then loaded onto
an SD card. With the SD card loaded into the 6030, the instrument will search for the SD card for the 100
closest airpaces and load them into the 6030 Airspace menu. As you fly from one location to another the 6030
will update its list of 100 airspaces from the SD card. Airspaces are shown on the map page and alerts will be
given when flying near (or within) an airspace according to the CTR alarm type set (see section 7.1). Pressing
the
i
key at anytime will bring up the info page which will show info for the 3 closest CTRs.
