Troubleshooting and tips
Help if problems occur
Should you at any time have a p roblem with your comp uter that you can’t solve
yourself, in many cases you can quickly solve it by using the SystemDiagnostics
program which is pre-installed on your computer.
The SystemDiagnostics program is alre ady installed on devices which were
delivered with a Windows operating system.
To start t h e SystemDiagnost
ics program, click on Startsymbo l - P rogram - Fujitsu - SystemDia gn ostics.
If a problem is found during a test run, t he SystemD iagnostics program o utputs
a code (e.g. DIFS-Code YXXX123456789123).
Ma ke a note of the output DIFS
code and the identity number of your device. The identity
number can be found on the typ
e rating plate on the back of the casing.
F o r further clari cation of the p roblem, contact the Service Desk for your country (see the Service
Desk list or visit the Internet at "
http://ts.fujitsu.com/suppor t/servicedesk.html"). When you do
this, please have r eady the identity number and serial n umber of your system and th e DIFS code.
The notebook’s date or time is incorrect

Cause Troubleshoot ing
Time and date are incorrect. W i th the BIOS -S etup-Utility, you can set the
date and time in th e main menu.
If the date and time are repeatedly incorrect when you switch o n the notebook,
the built-in battery that supplies the internal clock has failed.

Battery indicator does not illuminate
Cause
Fault e limination
The battery is not installed correctly.
Switch the notebook off.
Ch eck w hether the battery is installed
correctly in its compartment.
Switch the notebook on.
The battery is fully discharged. Charge the battery.
or
Install a charged battery.
or
Co nnect the notebook to a mains outlet
using the mains adapter.
