Setting up WLAN access
• Requirement: A WLAN must be available and you mu st have the
corresponding access information.
Information on configuring the WLAN access can be found in the
documentation for your operating system.
Access via UMTS
If you ordered an integrated U
MTS module with your system, yo u can enjoy optimum
reception and maximum energy
efficiency without awkward c ables or antennas. The
optional UMTS module is read
y for use straight away.
If you did not order a UMTS modu
le, yo u can p urchase the acce ssories for UM TS reception
from your retailer or your F
ujitsu Technology Solutions dealer.
You will find information on
establishing the connection with the UMTS n etwork
in the documentation for th
e hardware used.
You can connect your device
with the Internet via UMTS. To do this, use one
of the following types of co
nnection:
• a USB dongle (a USB stick wit
h your mobile ph one provider ’s SIM ca rd)
• UMTS E xpressCard (for inserting in the ExpressCard slot of your device)
• mobile end-device (e.g. mo
bile phone with Bluetooth or cable connection)
Ethernet and LAN
EthernetLAN
The internal net work module of your notebook supports Ethernet LAN. You can use it to
establish a connection to a local network (LAN = Local Area Network).

► Connect the network cable to the LAN
port of the notebook (1).
► Connect the network cable
to your
network co nnection (2).
Your network administrator can help you to co nfigure and u se the LAN connections.
The network cable is not included in the delivery scope. This type of
cable can be obtained from a specialist dealer.
