9 TROUBLESHOOTING
9.7 Service mode
9.7.1 Sensor & Panel Switch Test Mode
This mode checks status for the sensors and the switch of control panel. If there is a bad sensor or a bad
switch, you can observe these symptoms by the following procedure.
When the one of sensor is not working the following symptom is observed.
Sensor Symptom
Y home sensor When the plotter is initializing, the pen block hits the right side plate
and then Y position alarm is displayed and then the Y position alarm is
displayed.
Cam sensor The plotter displays “LOAD MEDIA!” even if a media is loaded.
Push roller sensor When the media was loaded, the pen block hits to the left side, and then
the Y position alarm is displayed.
+X, -X media sensor Media drops out from the plotter when the media was loaded with the
SHEET mode.
Note:
When the media sensor and the push roller are set to disable, it does not detect.
When the model setting or the number of push roller setting is incorrect, pen block hits to left side.
How to test the sensors
(1) The plotter displays the following menu.
(2) Load the copy paper to the plotter, and then the plotter displays the following menu.
(3) Press the 3 key (SHEET) to display the following menu.
(4) Press the PAUSE/MENU key to display the following menu.
