5.2.6 Check Steering Drive Axle
1. Check:
• pressure pad ①
• Rubber dust cover ②
Wear/damage Replace.
Damage/degradation Replace
NOTE
When replace the dust boots of the ball,
must enter 1/2 volume in lithium grease in to
the dust boots.
2. Check:
• Ball joint steering mechanism ①
• turning ②
• rocky ledge ③
Free play Replace the tie-rod end.
Turns roughly Replace the tie-rod end.
3. Check:
• tie-rods
Bends/damage Replace.
4. Check:
·steering joint
Crack/distortion Replace.
