4. Check:
• brake fluid level
• minimum level mark
Must use DOT3 Brake Fluid
5. Check:
·brake pedal operation
Soft or spongy feeling Bleed the brake system.
5.3.4 Disassembling Front Brake
Calipers
WARNING
·
Brake caliper is one of the most important
security components. Disassembly and
maintenance must have a rich experience in
technology and complete tool.
·
Wrong disassembly and reassembly may
cause serious injury and even death.
·
Replace damaged brake caliper.
·
If only replace the brake caliper of one side,
please check carefully whether the braking
force of right and left are balance and equal.
1. Remove:
• brake caliper pistons
• dust seals
• caliper piston seals
a. Blow compressed air into the hose joint opening
to force out the caliper piston from the brake
caliper body.
WARNING
• Never try to pry out a caliper piston.
• Cover the caliper piston with a rag. Be careful
not to get injured when the piston is expelled
from the caliper cylinder.
b. Remove the dust seals and caliper piston
seals.
