8 The following window appears:
8 Click No --> Windows is not supposed to be shut down!
8 You can now see the Windows user interface.
8 Click on My Computer/Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management/
Storage/Disk Management in succession.
--> Here the conditon of the data medium (hard disk) is shown, e.g., Healthy.
8 Click with the right mouse button on the drive to be tested.
8 Click on Properties in the open window.
8 Click now on Tools and for Error-checking on Check Now (in window Check disk no
additional information has to be selected).
8 Click on Start.
8 If no error has been detected, the error message Disk Check Complete is displayed.
8 If errors are detected, you should replace the hard disk. --> Contact the machine manufacturer
or a HEIDENHAIN service agency!
The same test can also be performed with the Windows Command Prompt and the
command chkdsk, e.g. chkdsk C:.
