12.1 Introduction
This chapter explains several operations that may be required during commissioning. The user should work
throughFirstTimeSwitchOn,UserCongurationandCongureDeviceIdenticationInformation,before
selectingfurtheroperationsasrequiredbythespecicinstallation.

Checks that are required on rst power up
User Conguration
How to change settings from the default values: -
Change the Password – How to change the password for Level 1 access
Congure HART
®
Operation during Fault - How to change the Fault
output level to 1 mA so that HART
®
will operate during Fault
Set the Time and Date - How to adjust the real time clock to local time
Congure Warning, Inhibit and Overrange Signal Levels - How to
change the signal levels from the default settings
Congure Device Identication Information
How to set text elds that may be useful for device identication
Fix the 4-20 mA Output
How to force the mA output to set levels in order to calibrate the controller
or test the system
Test 4-20 mA Loop Integrity
How to check that there is sufcient compliance in the loop to signal alarm
and overrange
Calibrate the 4-20 mA Loop
How to calibrate the current output (note this is not a gas calibration)
Congure Internal Alarm Threshold
How to change the internal threshold used to simulate Alarm and log gas
