Operation during Fault.
Note:Whenconnectingordisconnectingamultimeter,powerofftheSearchpointOptimaPlus,otherwise
the unit will indicate a latched warning that the 4-20 mA loop was broken. If this occurs, it can be cleared
usingtheHART
®
communications. See Clear Faults or Warnings.
Note:Thisfunctionwilltimeoutafter10minutesofinactivity.
1. Select Device Setup.
2. Select Test.
3. Select Simulate Alarm Fault.
4. Select the required function to simulate and press Enter.
Searchpoint Optima Plus will output the appropriate mA value, and check for any errors.
5. Ifthesimulationissuccessful,thedisplaywillshowthemessage“Nospecicerror”,pressOK.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 to simulate different functions.
7. When test is complete select End Simulation and press Enter.
8. Thedisplaywillshowthemessage“Nospecicerror”,pressOK.
9. The display shows a note that the Searchpoint Optima Plus will return to normal operation,
press OK.
10. Return to the Welcome screen.
12.10 Clear Faults or Warnings
During commissioning, faults or warnings may be generated. This will be indicated by the 4-20 mA output
signal. Use the procedure below to clear them.
1. Select Device Setup.
2. Select Unit Status
3. Select Active Faults or Active Warnings to check for any faults or warnings.
4. Select View, then First, Next or Previous to display the fault or warning.
Note:Firstdisplaystheactivefaultorwarningthatoccurredearliestintime.“Endoflist”meansthatthelast
fault or warning has been reached.
5. Press OK and Back to return to the Unit Status menu.
Note:Ifnoactivefaultsorwarningsarepresent,the4-20mAoutputsignalmayhavelatchedduetoan
earlier fault or warning that has now cleared. Proceed to step 7 to clear latched faults or warnings.
6. Use the Problem Solving section of this manual to rectify the issue.
7. Press Back to return to the Device Setup menu.
8. SelectTest.
