Solving Printer Problems
If you experience problems printing, run a printer self-test as
instructed in your printer documentation. If the self-test is
successful, the problem is not printer-specific.

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Printer will not
turn on.
The signal cable
may not be
securely connected.
Make sure the printer
cable is
securely connected.
Printer is not receiving
electrical power.
Make sure power cord is
securely connected to
electrical outlet.
Verify electrical power
supply to outlet.
Printer will not print. Printer is not turned
on or is offline.
Turn the printer on and
set it to online.
Correct printer is
not selected.
To select the correct
printer from within your
software application,
refer to the application
documentation.
To set the correct printer
as the default printer,
click Control Panel

Set as default.
Printer driver is
not installed.
In Control Panel, double-
click Printers
