11.8 Replacing a Filter Dryer (Threaded Connection)
Prerequisites
● A
lter dryer needs to be replaced.
● A spare lter dryer of the same model is available and functional.
● Tools: refrigerant reclaiming device (congured based on local conditions),
Phillips screwdriver, nitrogen cylinder, refrigerant tank, vacuum pump,
pressure gauge, rubber hose, protective gloves, two 27# adjustable wrenches,
one 36# wrench
● Preparation: Power
o the indoor unit and reclaim the refrigerant in the
system.
Context
● Reclaim or dispose of the refrigerant in accordance with local laws and
regulations. Do not vent the refrigerant to the atmosphere. During the reclaim
process, the R410A refrigerant composition may change. Therefore, you are not
advised to
rell the reclaimed R410A refrigerant to the cooling system.
Figure 11-25 shows the position of the lter dryer.
