– Damaged ber end face
Figure 4-43 shows images of the damaged ber end face. The image on
the left shows a severely damaged ber. Severely damaged bers can
cause damage to the equipment and should not be used. The image on
the right shows a defective ber. If the output power is within a certain
range, the defective
ber might not cause any damage to the equipment.
If the output power is unstable or out of the range, however, the
defective ber can cause damage to the equipment.
