– Damaged ber end face
Figure 4-43 shows images of the damaged ber end face. The image on
the left shows a severely damaged ber. Severely damaged bers can
cause damage to the equipment and should not be used. The image on
the right shows a defective ber. If the output power is within a certain
range, the defective
ber might not cause any damage to the equipment.
If the output power is unstable or out of the range, however, the
defective ber can cause damage to the equipment.
