■ Aim the camera at the measurement object
■ Automatic focusing is activated by pushing center function of the focus rocker switch
■ The laser range finder is now being activated (signal tone)
■ Now. align the red laser dot to the desired measurement object
■ After measuring the distance. focusing is performed on the measurement object
8.2.3.3 Permanent automatic focus with laser range finder*
With an integrated laser range finder, focusing can be set up to operate permanent automatically for
changing distances of the measurement objects. The laser range finder will be constantly repeated and in
case of any distance changes, the focus set up will be adjusted accordingly. In order to activate the laser
range finder function with a permanent supported autofocus LRF – PAF, select the menu Measurement:

The use of the function permanent laser range finder supported autofocus is limited to a distance of
approximately 2 to maximum 70 meters. The readjustment speed depends on the distance of the object,
the surface properties, and the lens used.
8.2.3.4 Focus setting of digital images (VIS focus)
A focus setting for the sharp display of video images (VIS channel) is only required for short-range
distances (< approx. 50 cm). Therefore, configure the required settings in the menu Settings – Screen
Mode – Digital Image as follows:
