9.3.3 Analogue output *
In addition to displaying and storing temperatures, VarioCAM HD enables the optional output of
temperature-dependent analogue signals, 2 analogue outputs are available on the BreakOut-Box* for
this:
Fig. 138 connection of analogue outputs 1 and 2 on the Breakout Box
The connection is made to the terminal strip of the BreakOut-Box via port 1 (AOUT1) and 2 (AOUT2) as
well as 3 and 6 for the reference potential GND of both channels. Output voltages are of 1-5 V. A voltage
of 0 V during active analogue output indicates an error. The outputs are short circuit proof, but should be
completed to high impedance for use of temperature-proportional voltage (R> = 1 M). The digital-to-
analogue conversion is performed with a resolution of 8 bits, so that the values range from (1 ... 5) V
dissolved by 255 steps with a minimum step width of 15.686 mV. The voltage output voltage always
refers to the currently used calibration (see chapter 9.4.1 Menu item "Calibration" – page 68).
Examples:
1. First Calibration Range -40…120°C: T <= -40 °C U = 1.00 V. T >= 120°C U = 5.00V
T = 24 °C U = 2.60 V = (64 * 4 / 160) +1
2. Second Calibration Range 0…500°C: T <= 0 °C U = 1.00 V, T >= 500°C U = 5.00 V
T = 24 °C U = 1.192 V = (24 * 4 / 500) +1
T = 145 °C U = 2.16 V = (145 * 4 / 500) +1
The activation of the analogue outputs is done via the settings menu of the corresponding measurement
