CONNECTION OF THE POWER UNIT
4.2.5.5 Motor cable length for parallel operation of motors
The resulting motor cable length for parallel operation of motors, or parallel installation
with multiple cables arises from the following formula:
resultingmotorcablelength=∑singlelinelengthx√Number of motor lines
4.2.5.6 Motor cable cross-section
The motor cable cross-section is dependent
on the characteristic of the output current (e.g. harmonic content).
onthereale󰀨ectivevalueofthemotorcurrent.
on the cable length.
on the type of the used line.
on the ambient conditions such as bundling and temperature.
4.2.5.7 Interconnection of the motor
NOTICE
Incorrect behaviour of the motor!
The connection instructions of the motor manufacturer are always
generally valid !
NOTICE
Protect motor against voltage peaks !
Drive controllers switch at the output with high du/dt. Voltage peaks
that endanger the insulation system at the motor can occur espe-
cially in case of long motor cables (>15 m). A motor choke, a dv/
dt-lterorsine-waveltercanbeusedtoprotectthemotorwith
regard to the operating mode.
