Calibration
This section gives an overview of the calibration features of
the power supply. For more detailed discussion of the
calibration procedures, refer to
Chapter 8, “Service and
Maintenance”.
Calibration security
This feature allows you to enter a security code to prevent
accidental or unauthorized calibrations of the power supply.
When you first receive your power supply, it is secured.
Before you can calibrate the power supply, you must
unsecure it by entering the correct security code.
• Table 2- 1 shows the security code for each model when
the power supply is shipped from the factory. The
security code is stored in non- volatile memory, and does
not change when power has been turned off or after a
power- on reset (*RST command).
• The security code may contain up to 11 alphanumeric
characters or underscore character (“_”). A letter (A- Z) or
number (0- 9) can be used for the first character. You do
not have to use all 11 characters.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ (11 characters)
• When you secure the power supply from the remote
interface, use a maximum of eight alphanumeric
characters to unsecure the power supply from the front
panel also. For example, the security code for E3646A
has less than nine characters.
If you forget your security code, you can disable the security feature by
adding a jumper inside the power supply and then enter a new code. Refer
to Chapter 8, “Service and Maintenance” for more information.
