Close the landing doors. Check that the
landing doors are mechanically locked.
Go to the maintenance access panel.
Open the brakes step by step to move the
elevator ca
r.
1. Install the lever to the manual brake
releasing device.
2.
Pull the brake release lever to release the
mechan
ical brakes. (position 2)
3. Keep the brakes open maximum of 1
second
and then release the lever to
close the brakes. (position 1)
WARNING! The speed can increase fast when you open the brake. Never keep the
brakes open more than 1.0 second to prevent the elevator from accelerating to
overspeed. Never open the brakes when the elevator car is in door zone.
