ToviewthePOSTeventlogorsystem-eventlog,completethefollowingsteps:
Step1.Turnontheserver.
Step2.Whentheprompt<F1>Setupisdisplayed,pressF1.Ifyouhavesetbothapower-onpassword
andanadministratorpassword,youmusttypetheadministratorpasswordtoviewtheeventlogs.
Step3.SelectSystemEventLoganduseoneofthefollowingprocedures:
•ToviewthePOSTeventlog,selectPOSTEventViewer.
•Toviewthesystem-eventlog,selectSystemEventLog.
Viewingeventlogswithoutrestartingtheserver
Usethisinformationtoviewtheeventlogswithoutrestartingtheserver.
IftheserverisnothungandtheIMM2isconnectedtoanetwork,methodsareavailableforyoutoviewone
ormoreeventlogswithouthavingtorestarttheserver.
IfyouhaveinstalledDynamicSystemAnalysis(DSA)Portable,youcanuseittoviewthesystem-eventlog
(astheIPMIeventlog),ortheIMM2eventlog(astheASMeventlog),theoperating-systemeventlogs,or
themergedDSAlog.YoucanalsouseDSAPreboottoviewtheselogs,althoughyoumustrestarttheserver
touseDSAPreboot.ToinstallDSAPortableorcheckforanddownloadalaterversionofDSAPrebootCD

IfIPMItoolisinstalledintheserver,youcanuseittoviewthesystem-eventlog.Mostrecentversions
