1.Whenyoureplacethesystemboard,youmusteitherupdatetheserverwiththelatestfirmwareor
restorethepre-existingfirmwarethatthecustomerprovidesonadisketteorCDimage.Makesurethat
youhavethelatestfirmwareoracopyofthepre-existingfirmwarebeforeyouproceed.
2.Whenyoureplacethesystemboard,makesurethatyouremovetheIntegratedManagementModuleII
(IMM2)AdvancedUpgradeandplaceitonthenewsystemboard.ForinformationabouttheAdvanced
Upgrade,see“Usingtheremotepresenceandblue-screencapturefeatures”onpage97
Note:YouhavetoreactivatetheFeaturesonDemand(FoD)afterreplacingthesystemboard.
3.Beforeyoureplacethesystemboard,makesurethatyoubackupanyfeaturesondemand
(FoD)keysthatwereenabled.ReactivateanyFeaturesonDemandfeaturesafterreplacingthe
systemboard.Instructionsforautomatingtheactivationoffeaturesandinstallingactivation
keysisintheLenovoFeaturesonDemandUser'sGuide.Todownloadthedocument,goto
