Completingtheinstallation
Usethisinformationtocompletetheinstallation.
Tocompletetheinstallation,completethefollowingsteps.
Step1.IfyouremovedthePCIriser-cardassembly,reinstallit(see“ReplacingthePCIriser-card
assembly”onpage78
).
Step2.Ifyouremovedtheairbaffle,reinstallit(see“Replacingtheairbaffle”onpage79).
Step3.Ifyouremovedtheservercover,replaceit(see“Replacingthecover”onpage80).
Step4.Installtheserverintherackcabinet(seetheRackInstallationInstructionsthatcomeswiththe
serverforinstructions).
Step5.Reconnectthecablesandpowercords(see“Connectingthecables”onpage81).
Step6.Updatetheserverconfiguration(see“Updatingtheserverconfiguration”onpage83).
Step7.Starttheserver.Confirmthatitstartscorrectlyandrecognizesthenewlyinstalleddevices,and
makesurethatnoerrorLEDsarelit.

Ifyouarereplacingaservercomponentintheserver,youneedtoslidetheserveroutfromtherack
enclosure,turnofftheserverandperipheraldevices,anddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
ToreplacethePCIriser-cardassembly,completethefollowingsteps.
Step1.InstalltheadapterinthePCIriser-cardassembly(see“Replacinganadapter”onpage185or
“ReplacinganLenovoServeRAIDSAS/SATAcontroller”onpage188).
Step2.ReconnectanyadaptercablesthatyoudisconnectedwhenyouremovedthePCIriser-card
assembly.
Step3.CarefullyalignthePCIriser-cardassemblywiththeguidesontherearoftheserverandwiththe
PCIriser-cardconnectoronthesystemboard;then,placeyourthumbsonlocationsmarkedbythe
bluetabsandpressdownonthePCIriser-cardassembly.Makesurethattheriser-cardassembly
isfullyseatedintheconnectoronthesystemboard.
