Ifyouarereplacingaservercomponentintheserver,youneedtoslidetheserveroutfromtherack
enclosure,turnofftheserverandperipheraldevices,anddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
Note:Whenyoudisconnectthepowersourcefromtheserver,youlosetheabilitytoviewtheLEDsbecause
theLEDsarenotlitwhenthepowersourceisremoved.Beforeyoudisconnectthepowersource,makea
noteofwhichLEDsarelit,includingtheLEDsthatarelitontheoperationinformationpanel,onthelightpath
diagnosticspanel,andLEDsinsidetheserveronthesystemboard.
ToreplacetheDVDdrive,completethefollowingsteps.
Step1.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainsthenewopticaldrivetoanyunpainted
metalsurfaceontheserver;then,removetheopticaldrivefromthepackageandplaceiton
astatic-protectivesurface.
Step2.Followtheinstructionsthatcomewiththedrivetosetanyjumpersorswitches.
Step3.AttachthedriveretentionclipthatyouremovedfromtheDVDdrivefillerpaneltothesideof
thenewDVDdrive.

Step4.AligntheDVDdriveinthedrivebayandslidetheDVDdriveintotheopticaldrivebayuntilthe
DVDdriveclicksintoplace.
