Ifyouarereplacingaservercomponentintheserver,youneedtoslidetheserveroutfromtherack
enclosure,turnofftheserverandperipheraldevices,anddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
Toreplacethefixedpowersupply,completethefollowingsteps.
Step1.Placethenewpowersupplyintothebay.

Step2.Tightenthecaptivethumbscrewthatsecuresthepowersupplytothechassisbottom.
Step3.Fastenthescrewthatholdsthepowersupplytotherearofthechassis.
Step4.Connecttheinternalpower-supplycablefromthepowersupplytothepowerconnectorsonthe
systemboard(see“System-boardinternalconnectors”onpage26forthelocationsofthepower
connectorsonthesystemboard).
Step5.Routetheinternalpower-supplycables,securingthemwiththeretention-clips.
Step6.Testthepowersupply:
a.Connectoneendoftheacpowercordforthenewpowersupplyintotheconnectoronthe
backofthepowersupply,andconnecttheotherendofthepowercordintoaproperly
groundedelectricaloutlet.
b.MakesurethatthestandbypowerLEDonthesystemboardislit(see“System-boardLEDs”
onpage29);ifthestandbypowerLEDisnotlit,discontinuethisprocedureandobtaina
newpowersupply.
c.Pressthepower-controlbutton.Makesurethatthepower-onLEDonthefrontoftheserver
islit.
