What to do if …

Distronic** is switched off because:
앫 the Distronic** cover in the front
bumper is dirty.
앫 the functionality is impaired due
to heavy rain or thick fog.
왘 Clean if necessary the Distronic** cover in
the front bumper (
컄 page 346).
왘 Restart the vehicle.
or
Distronic** becomes operational again with-
out re-starting the engine if:
앫 dirt comes off during driving (e.g. slush or
snow)
앫 the system recognizes full sensor availabili-
ty (due to lessening rain or the road surface
drying)
앫 the message disappears from the multi-
function display
앫 you see the speed last stored blink in the
multifunction display for 5 seconds.
You can now use Distronic** normally.
Warning! G
Distronic** cannot take weather condi-
tions into account. Switch off Distronic**
or do not turn it on if the sensor is dirty or
visibility is diminished as a result of snow,
rain or fog. The distance control may be
impaired even before the system is able to
detect a dirty sensor.
The message
DISTRONIC
CURRENTLY
UNAVAILABLE
SEE OPERATORS MANUAL
will be displayed in the multifunction dis-
play and Distronic** will be turned off.
