Why do I see fatty tissue collapse in blocks & microsections with Milestone LOGOS One?
    • R
      rcookAug 12, 2025
If you observe fatty tissue collapse in blocks and microsections, it might be due to inadequate tissue fixation reacting with JFC, or the absence of connective tissue parenchyma. To address this, fix the tissue conventionally overnight or include heated fixation. Alternatively, use the JFC followed by Isopropanol protocol for processing.

What to do if there is incomplete clearing of fat in Milestone LOGOS One?
    • M
      Miss Chelsea WhiteAug 16, 2025
Incomplete clearing of fat can occur if the processing cycle is too short or if isopropanol is inefficient for fat clearing, or if the dehydration/clearing agent reuse life has been exceeded. Using an appropriate size processing cycle or reducing the tissue block thickness may help. As an alternative clearing agent, use JFC, or replace the dehydration or clearing reagent.

Why are there pigment deposits in sections when using Milestone LOGOS One?
    • H
      Heather KellerAug 19, 2025
Pigment deposits in sections may arise from incomplete fixation of blood. Perform a pigment test to determine if they are formalin pigment or hemosiderin deposits. Consider including heated fixation or extending conventional fixation time to improve fixation.

What to do if specimens detach from surrounding WAX in Milestone LOGOS One Laboratory Equipment?
    • G
      Grant OdomAug 23, 2025
Specimens detaching from the surrounding wax may be due to a processing cycle that is too short. Try using an appropriate size processing cycle or reducing the tissue block thickness.

How to fix white appearance of block face with Milestone LOGOS One Laboratory Equipment?
    • P
      Paula KingAug 27, 2025
A white appearance of the block face indicates that wax infiltration is not entirely complete. To resolve this, increase the wax infiltration time.

What causes collapse of block face after sectioning with Milestone Laboratory Equipment?
    • K
      kathleenchavezAug 31, 2025
Collapse of the block face after sectioning suggests that wax infiltration is not entirely complete. Increasing the wax infiltration time should resolve this issue.

How to resolve poor dehydration in Milestone Laboratory Equipment?
    • C
      connie77Sep 4, 2025
Poor dehydration can be caused by alcohol contamination (water), the use of sponge pads or inefficient biopsy pads, or a processing cycle that is too short. Replace the alcohol, extend the processing time, use sponge alternatives or use appropriate size processing cycle to resolve this.

What causes pyknotic nuclei and severe cytoplasmic distortion in Milestone Laboratory Equipment?
    • C
      Charles DurhamSep 8, 2025
Pyknotic nuclei and severe cytoplasmic distortion can result from poor fixation. Extend the fixation time, or use the JFC/Isopropanol program to address poor fixation or JFC reaction issues.
