17 Probes and Biopsy

17.1.8 Storage and Transportation
When all examinations for the day have been completed, confirm that the probe is in good
condition. After disinfecting the probe, confirm that the probe is in good condition and stored in a
suitable place.
• To prevent the probe from being damaged, DO NOT store it in locations where it may be
exposed to:
– Direct sunlight or X-rays
– Sudden changes in temperature
–Dust
– Excessive vibration
– Heat generators
• When the probe is sent to MINDRAY Customer Service Department or sales representative for
repair, be sure to disinfect it and keep it in the carrying case to prevent infection.
17.1.9 Sensor (Fusion Imaging) Support Cleaning and
Disinfection
Before performing the fusion imaging exam, clean and disinfect (or sterilize) the fusion sensor
support as required.
CAUTION
• When performing cleaning and disinfection of the sensor support to prevent
infection, wear sterile gloves.
• After disinfection, rinse the sensor support thoroughly with sterile water to
remove all chemical residues. Chemical residues may be harmful to the
human body.
• No cleaning and disinfecting may result in the sensor support becoming a
source of infection.
