8. Safety-related functions and interfaces

You can mute the Protective fields when driving the robot in Manual mode:
1 Put the robot into Manual mode.
2 In the robot interface, select Muted Protective fields in the joystick control.
3 In the dialog box, select Yes to acknowledge the muting of the Protective fields.
If you are using Manual mode, you can mute the Protective fields without marking the area as an
operating hazard zone. It is the responsibility of the user driving the robot to ensure that it does
not damage equipment or injure personnel. The robot will not stop automatically for detected
obstacles.
Pre-configured muting of the Protective fields
The Protective fields are automatically muted when the robot docks to most types of markers,
including shelves. This ensures that the robot can drive closely to the marker without entering
Protective stop.
The only marker that does not mute the Protective fields is the L-marker.
The Protective fields are muted from when the docking starts and until the robot has undocked
and has started a new action that requires the robot to plan a path.
The Protective fields will remain muted during any Relative move action that comes right after the
docking action. The Protective fields will also remain muted if you engage the Manual brake
release—see "Manual brake release switch" on page13.
