Audio Controller
The Versa P system board contains an on-board audio controller. The audio controller is an
ESS Technology ES688S chip that provides the following features:
n 16-bit stereo audio
n embedded microprocessor
n Windows 2.0 sound system support
n sound blaster pro support
n built-in speaker and microphone.
I/O Addressing
The CPU works in conjunction with I/O devices using I/O mapping. Refer to Table Section
1-7 for hex addresses.
