Appendix E Typical IPv4 Setup
The steps below outline how to correctly configure
a computer to connect directly to the BriteSpot®
Plus over Ethernet. This is a guideline only, as the
procedure will vary depending on the operating
system.
1. On the computer, open Network and
Sharing Center
2. Open the Ethernet Connection (or local
Area Connection).
3. Open Properties. From the list, select
Internet Protocol Version 4 and click
Properties. This will open a dialog where
the IP address can be set.
4. The first three numbers (separated by
periods) of the IP address must match those
of the BriteSpot Plus (192.168.1 by default).
5. The last number of the IP address must be
different from that of the BriteSpot Plus
(anything but 51 by default).
Note: Before modifying your network
settings, contact your network
administrator.
