SYSTEM CALIBRATION
3. Select the Next button to continue to the Section Setup prompt. If a switch box or boom sense node is
detected, three options will display.
SECTION AND SWITCH SETUP
1. Select the Number of Sections field and enter the number of section on/off valves available for Hawkeye
section control.
NOTE: Liquid fertilizer applicators running Hawkeye must have a single master valve instead of multiple
section valves. In this case, enter the number of toolbar sections. For example, a toolbar that folds
twice on each side would have five sections (L outer, L inner, Center, R inner, R outer).
2. Select the Next button to display the Section Width Setup prompt.
3. Select the Section Width fields and enter the width of each section across the implement. In Applicator mode,
enter the number of Hawkeye NCV’s in each toolbar section.
a. Section 1 is always the farthest left section on the implement and the highest section number is always the
farthest right section.
b. Measure the width of the boom (or count the number of nozzles and multiply by the nozzle spacing)
controlled by each section and enter the section measurements to ensure that the system accurately
records section coverage during field applications.
c. For liquid fertilizer applicators in Applicator mode, the Hawkeye NCV’s at each end of the toolbar are each
treated as half a row. For example, an outer section consisting of four nozzle control valves with 30”
spacing would have a section width of 30” + 30” + 30” + 15” = 105”.
4. Touch Next to display the Boom Offset page.
5. Enter the desired boom offset from the rear axle.
6. Touch Next to proceed to the Switch Mapping prompt if a switchbox or boom sense node is detected.
7. For each configured section, use the drop down field to select the desired switch number to assign each
configured section to a switch.
8. When all section switches are configured for the desired operation, select the Next button to proceed to the
Pressure Transducer Calibration prompt.
PRESSURE TRANSDUCER CALIBRATION
1. Select the Transducer Type. Available options are 0-250 PSI, 0-150 PSI. If a custom transducer is being used,
select one of the two options available in the wizard. After the calibration wizard has completed, navigate to
the Advanced Pressure Calibration Menu and select Custom. Follow the instructions for custom transducer
calibration.
2. Press Next. If a sparge transducer is detected the Sparge Pressure Calibration prompt will appear. If a sparge
transducer is not detected, the Meter Cal prompt will appear.
3. If a secondary Sparge Pressure Transducer is detected, select the transducer type and press the Next button to
proceed to the meter cal prompt.
VALVE CALIBRATION
1. After completing Pressure Transducer Calibration, press Next and select the appropriate valve type.
METER CAL AND UNITS
1. Select the Meter Cal field and enter the calibration value for the flow meter used to monitor the Hawkeye
system product flow.
2. Select the units field and select the units used by the flow meter to monitor flow.
NOTE: Raven flow meters use a meter cal in pulses per 10 gallons [37.9 L]. Other flow meters may use
different meter cal rates.
3. Select the Next button to proceed to the Target Rate prompt.
