11. While holding the front of the flatbed with one hand, pull the flatbed hinge rod out.
12. Lift the flatbed unit from the machine.
13. Remove the kickstand (B).
14. Remove the two flatbed supports (C). These will be used on the new flatbed.
15. Remove the controller shield (D). This will be used on the new flatbed.
Scanner Assembly Removal
1. Left scanner cover ( p.124 "Left Scanner Cover Removal").
2. Right scanner cover ( p.125 "Right Scanner Cover Removal").
3. Left side cover ( p.66 "Left Side Cover Removal").
4. Right side cover ( p.104 "Right Side Cover Removal").
5. Lift the flatbed and ADF assemblies to the up position.
6. Controller board shield ( p.48 "Controller Board Shield").
