6.5 INITIALIZATION OF BOOTSTRAP

10. When errors appear during operation, first of all they have to be confirmed with [ENTER] before
remedying (see chapter OM chapter 10 - ERROR MESSAGE / CORRECTION).

13. Start DOWNLOAD by [MODE], [SERIAL], [5] and [ENTER].

15. Run on PC the application „Serial Monitor 5010“ (Smon5010.exe)“.

16. During proceding of operation a warning box is shown on the screen of the PC:
ERROR 1: Timeout
Press [Ok].
17. Close window by the [CLOSE BUTTON].
An error message is shown:
Error Code: 19 [ VARIABLE NOT INITIALIZED ]
Ignore the error message by pressing button [Abort] and finish the application.
18. The display of Photometer 5010 shows:
19. Switch off Photometer 5010 and disconnect the mains cord.
20. Replace the EPROM by the FLASH MEMORY.
21. The position of the jumper beside the FLASH MEMORY IC 14 (29F010) has to be Bootstrap
.
22. Connect Photometer 5010 with the mains and switch it on.
23. Continue with chapter 6.4 - Resume after malfunction.
Perform item 7 up to 13.
24. After loading the general operating software of Photometer 5010 an initialization can be done by
using a special keycode. The procedure makes a default setting of several variables.
Attention
: The performing of the following instructions may only be done in case of having a
cleared RAM or a replaced battery.
Description of keycode:
Press and hold the button [WASH], switch on the instrument and wait until a beep.
Let the button off.
Press within the next two seconds the button [ZERO] and wait until a beep.
Let the button off.
