4.40 MOTHER BOARD RR-115 ID 5010-115
RIELE BERLIN Photometer 5010 / V4 4.40.6 22.09.2003
Adjustment of amplifier stage
1. Before starting adjustments switch off photometer 5010 and unplug from line. Open the photometer
regarding safety rules of chapter 1 of this service manual.
2. Insert standard cuvette adaptor for disposable cuvettes into the instrument, but do not insert cuvette.
3. Put the top case at the right side of the bottom case. Meanwhile all plugs remain plugged. Switch
instrument on.
4. Be sure that the optical unit is adjusted faultless (see chapter 4.10) and check the supply voltages and
the lamp voltage (see chapter 4.40.3 and 4.40.4).
5. Use utility AD-Transducer measurands (see OM 8.2.9)
6. Start menu by [MODE] [MODE] [9]:
7. Confirm with [ENTER].
8. Boost operation is deactivated. Accept the displayed status with [ENTER].
9. On the second line the current sensitivity level V (e.g. V0) in the range 0...7
is shown on the left and the actual AD-transducer value (e.g. 23711) to the
middle. On the right the actual filter position (e.g. F1) is shown.
The current sensitivity level can be changed by numerical keys [0] up to [7].
If the current sensitivity level should be different from 0, press the key [0] up
to the beep.
The filter position can be changed by [MODE] and a numerical keys [1] up
to [9].
Filter position 1 up to 8 are used for interference filters.
Filter position 9 is used for dark position of filterwheel.
10. Amplification
: Turn the filter wheel to that position, so that the shown AD-transducer value becomes
maximum. Adjust the AD-transducer value to 500.000 (± 50.000) counts with the potentiometer P4 on
the mother board. In case of not reaching this value, turn the potentiometer P4 clockwise (increasing) to
the maximum. Then reduce the amplification with turns counter-clockwise (decreasing) until AD-
transducer value is changing.
11. Offset
: Switch off Photometer 5010 and change standard cuvette adaptor with flow-through adaptor.
12. Connect the negative lead of DVM to analog ground.
13. Connect the positive lead of DVM at measuring point MP1.
14. Switch on Photometer 5010.
15. Start menu by [MODE] [MODE] [9]:
16. Confirm with [ENTER].
17. Boost operation is deactivated. Accept the displayed status with [ENTER].
