Overview of amplifier types
This manual covers the following amplifier types:
Base amplifier
The base amplifier (3 HU) contains the power amplifier with two power supplies and the
fans required for cooling. It also contains the necessary equipment for connecting a second
exciter in passive reserve and the RF splitter for feeding the extended amplifier.
Extended amplifier
The use of the extended amplifier (3 HU) allows doubling the output power. It essentially
corresponds to the base amplifier without RF splitter, but it also contains the combiner that
is required for connecting the base and extended amplifier in parallel.
