Convenient Functions (Utility)
Deleting a Program File (Backup Delete)
Heres how to delete a previously saved Program le.
1. In the MENU screen, select “Utility” and press the
[ENTER] button.
2. Use the cursor [
H
] [
I
] buttons to select “Backup
Delete, and then press the [ENTER] button.
3. Use the [DEC] [INC] buttons or the value dial to
select the Program le that you want to delete; then
press the [ENTER] button.
The conrmation message appears.
If you decide to cancel without deleting the Program le, press the
[EXIT] button.
MEMO
If you choose ALL, all Program les will be deleted.
4. Press the [MENU] button to delete the Program le.
NOTE
5 Be sure never to turn o the power while the delete is in
progress.
5 Do not disconnect the USB ash drive while the le is being
deleted.
Formatting Memory (Format)
“Formatting” is the operation of deleting all Program les from user
memory or initializing a USB ash drive so that it can be used with
the RD-2000.
USB ash drive cannot be used with the RD-2000 unless it is
formatted suitably for the RD-2000.
Before using a new USB ash drive, you’ll need to format it.
NOTE
When you format the USB ash drive, all data previously
saved on that memory will be erased. Before you carry out a
format, make sure that the USB ash drive does not contain
important data you need to keep.
1. In the MENU screen, select “Utility” and press the
[ENTER] button.
2. Press the cursor [
H
] [
I
] [
K
] [
J
] buttons to select
“Format USB Memory and then press the [ENTER]
button.
A conrmation message appears.
If you decide to cancel the Format operation, press the [EXIT]
button.
3. Carefully read the conrmation message in the
screen, and then press the [ENTER] button.
4. Press the [MENU] button to execute the Format
operation.
NOTE
5 Never turn o the unit while the screen indicates “Executing...
5 Never turn o the power or disconnect the USB ash drive
while reading or writing is in progress.
Returning to the Factory Settings
(Factory Reset)
The settings stored in the RD-2000 can be returned to their factory
settings.
1. In the MENU screen, select “Utility” and press the
[ENTER] button.
2. Press the cursor [

] [
I
] [
K
] [
J
] buttons to select
“Factory Reset and then press the [ENTER] button.
A conrmation message appears.
3. Carefully read the conrmation message in the
screen, and then press the [ENTER] button.
4. Press the [MENU] button.
Factory reset is executed.
NOTE
Never turn o the power during Factory Reset (while
“Executing... Don’t Power OFF” appears in the display).
5. Turn the power of the RD-2000 o, then on again.
